Tree of Life - 'Zig Zag Branch' - 1min. of inspiration from God's creation

As a safari ranger I had to learn the English and scientific names of over 90 indigenous trees in our area The red buffalo Thorn Zizphus mucranata is also known as the tree of life. One of three characteristics of this tree is a zig zaging branch. This distinctive zigzag pattern symbolizes our life. No matter how much we try to stay on center life seems to pull us to the left or to the right. In Matthew chapter 15 Jesus speaks about two sons one son decides to go way off Center and squanders his wealth and his belongings in a foreign country. Upon his return to his father It is written, "and while he was a long way off his father saw him coming filled with love and compassion he ran to his son embraced him and kissed him." Worry and anxiety try to take us off center in our relationship with Jesus. It is reassuring to know that when our life zigs and zags Jesus Is always standing at the center ready to throw his loving arms around us to welcome us home. Photo:Courtesy of Margerie Aucamp
